Quiet Fans However, 3 pin or 4 pin ConcernsJan 02, 2009
Went to the AC website to confirm how the power connector is set up for this fan. Confirmed listed language of "4-pin" PWM which is what is needed for new main boards who's bios control fan speeds on the cpu. There seems to be some mis-representation as to this fans main purpose. It is a case fan or a cpu fan? Nothing on AC's website states this and neither does Amazon however, they are only going from the AC data I'm sure.
I had checked for this information with Arctic-Cooling.com by email and got no response from several inquires. This will be my last effort to deal with AC since they have no clue how to convert their language into english thus, incorrect data is being given or not the correct data is offered to determine the purpose and intention of this AF9225PWM. I'm using this for a cpu fan on a thermalright XP-90.
I wrote this to bash Arctic Cooling the most, no reply about this information leads me to believe they have better things to do. Maybe, but my email's on their website "contact us" resulted in poor responses which had no further information other than a "canned response" of website data which was the reason for the inquiry in the first place.
I'm going to guess the fans are good. I'm positive the customer support is worthless at Arctic Cooling. By the way, anyone looking for replacement or new PWM fans for a cpu cooler is in for a real treat. Most of the cpu cooler's maker's will not sell the PWM fan sepperately and finding a PWM fan for a cpu cooler is no easy task. Especially with idots writing about their products with no usage data listed. Should we trial and error shipping and time wasted to get this right?
